The states available on each account will depend on your contract and each service type.

SIM states
The SIM states appear in general order of lifecycle.
State |
Description |
Stock |
SIMs that have been shipped or have arrived, and are ready for activation.
SIMs cannot generate data, voice, or text usage. |
Test |
Test state allows you to check your device connectivity.
Once the SIM reaches any time or set usage limit, it will automatically switch over to the next configured state. SIM can generate any configured data, voice, and text usage. Note: A SIM can only go from stock to test state once. This state is no longer available once the SIM has been in ready or active state. |
Ready |
Ready state allows you to assign plans and features to a SIM and have it ready before you need to use it. Once there is any usage on the SIM or the time limit is reached, it will automatically move to active.
SIMs can generate data, voice, or text usage. Note: A SIM can only go from stock to ready state once. This state is no longer available once the SIM has been in active state. |
Active |
Active state can generate data, text, usage, and voice. |
Suspended |
SIMs cannot generate data, text, usage, and voice but can be reactivated.
Some service types will automatically move to suspended with charge after a preset time limit. |
Suspended with charge |
SIMs cannot generate data, text, usage, and voice but can be reactivated.
SIMs in this state incur charges. |
Deactivated |
SIMs cannot generate data, text, usage, and voice.
Some carriers will allow a deactivated SIM to be reactivated. |
Pending scrap |
SIMs cannot generate data, text, usage, and voice.
Some carriers will allow a pending scrap SIM to be reactivated; time restrictions apply. |
Scrapped |
SIMs cannot generate data, text, usage, and voice.
Some carriers allow scrapped SIMs to transition back to stock. |
SIM state configuration details

The service types and configuration settings based on your contract are available as part of the service agreement menu.
The following states, if available for that service type, are configurable based on your contract:
- Test
- Ready
- Suspended
- Suspended with charge
The service types available will appear on the left-hand side. Select a service type to see the SIM states available and your account configuration options.

Message "XXX state configuration has not been created."
The message means that the state is available for that service type, but not is included on your contract.

Test |
Test state can include data, SMS, or voice limits but will always have a time limit.
Transition A - if any usage limits is reached, it will trigger a state change.
Transition B - If there is no usage on the SIM by the time limit, that will trigger the state change

Ready |
Any usage in ready state will trigger a state change. If there is no usage on the SIM by the time limit, that will trigger the state change. Note: The time limit is calendar days, not business days.

Suspend (suspended) |
Suspend state may or may not have a time limit to trigger a state change.

Suspended with charge |
Suspended with charge state does not have a time limit.
