When you create a Rule, you add conditions to that Rule and, optionally, add an Action where you specify an e-mail address or addresses for notification when a condition triggers an Alert.
If the Rule already exists, you can add the e-mail action from the Rule details page.
Note: Adding an e-mail notification is optional. It is not required that you add the Email Action.
Adding e-mail notification while creating a Rule
- If the Rule has not been created, see Creating a Rule and why a Rule is needed and perform the Add Action steps.
- Select Add Action.
- Select Email.
- Select Continue.
- Enter an e-mail address. If the e-mail format is not correct or if an e-mail address was not entered, a message is displayed.
- If you need to add more than one e-mail address, click Add Another Email Address.
Continue clicking Add Another Email Address and entering the addresses until all e-mail addresses are entered.
- If you need to add more than one e-mail address, click Add Another Email Address.
- Select Continue.
- Select Continue again.
- Verify the addresses you entered. If changes are needed, click Back to return.
- Select Save.
When the Conditions and e-mail addresses have been added, click Create Rule.
Adding e-mail notification to an existing Rule
- If the Rule has been created and you need to add the e-mail Action to the Rule, use the following instructions.
- Search for the Rule from either the search bar at the top of the page or select Rules and use the search bar on the Rules page.
- In the Actions section of the page, select Add Action.
- Select Email.
- Select Continue.
- Enter an e-mail address.
- If you want to add multiple addresses, select Add Another Email Address for entering an additional address.
- Select Continue.
- Select Continue again.
- Select Save. The e-mail action is saved and displays on the Rule details page.
When a Rule is broken, you will receive an e-mail notification to the address or addresses you specified.
Important! SecurityPro only monitors your devices to notify you when your Device is not behaving as expected. It does not resolve this behavior. You must take action to resolve your Device’s behavior and then acknowledge within SecurityPro that you have done so.
